They open there flag ship store on december 12 th . We will be styling all there guests and press.

We've princess party booking @ clients homes starting this Sunday ..I love these , seeing the kids faces when they see themselves in the mirror.

This week I've seen my junior of 4 years go onto pastures new. Always hard as they become your family & baby's .
Natasha who helped at the Preston guild weekend ( previously @ Nicky Clarke ) will be joining our team from December 4 th ! I'm excited to see what she has to bring to the salon .......always good for team moral clients fresh ideas.

In between my daily ideas & challenges , I've reflected on the past year (2012).

I'm thrilled with how well the salon has moved forward this year. And what such amazing events we've been involved with ( Preston guild , uclan& in salon photoshoots, vintage fairs and styling for films) . And now the store opening .

All this above is fab and exciting , but! The biggest achievement is to be still supported by our amazing client base . Sadly many salons closed at the beginning of this year due to the tough economic climate . You can never predict how times will change . But I intend to do my hardest to keep my loyal clients happy ... I'm so grateful to them & for there support !!!

I've found a new sanity ( spinning ) its 45 mins of loosing my mind in a burn!!!! I'd love to hate it but I keep returning . And it's time all about me for that time .

So inspirational . I learnt lots of new ideas for the salon ,and also reminded myself of many things i should be doing.
It was really great meeting other salon owners, to share your day to day worries, ideas,and love of our trade .
Weve gained many new face since our guild apearance , it seems to of raised our profile /(yipee).

Preston Vintage guild 2012

WE DID IT! AND THEN SOME............................................

Oh my goodness. where do i start .
Thursday was press day . BBC LOOK NORTH WEST . Interviewed me while styling my 4 models.
I used my 2 neices and 2 daughters. They all had 1940s looks.
We were with paul heathcote,Wayne henningway, claire from pop up design tent .......
We all gathered in miller park .I was interviewed in the tent where the 1972 all day soul night was to be & the 1952 jive.
The tent was like being in a ball room/ soul club.

My excitement began ..
I wittered none stop all friday to our clients ! about the up coming event .

Friday evening i returned to  miller park with katy (stylist from the salon ).
We arrived to see our salon styling mirrors in place .We then dressed the area to create our vintage parlour...............

That evening on bbc . the footage about the event was aired ! Ireturned home to very excited children . They were thrilled they had been on tv.

Saturday morning . 7.30 am start  and prior to the vintage event /
 Abi ( stylist ) and i had a wedding to do .
Louise my beautiful bride had chosen her wedding at STANLEY HOUSE ...............
This is a beautiful venue , beautiful rooms to prepare her in .
We had 2 adult bridemaids , 2 small bridesmaids , mother of the bride & louise .
A  beautiful family & great fun to spend time with .

11am were off in the car again...to the guild event !!!only we could get any where near miller park .
The trade procession s had begun .ARG! PANIC .

12am we arrive to a swarm of people at the vintage salon !!!!

 My body rushes...and i get stuck in !! the responce for us was brilliant we were constantly working all day in the salon until 6pm . 10 deep in spectators ..We put on a show .

6-7pm i was taken off with nicola( beauty) to prepare guild event organizers hair in the tent that was for the 1940s ball................

With a quick change into my ball dress, i arrive to the BALL with my husband lee, and our friends penny & jay (penny had worked at the vintage tent all day ) .. we had a brilliant evening , we continued onto the 1970s soul night & after party @THE CONTINENTAL  where wayne was DJ ing .............3pm bed!

Sunday we did it all agin .......................................................................

Monday i took part  in the church processions with the guild.Walking with my children .
It was really fabulious .

Today tuesday .....ive had sofa day and huge chill out!!!!

preston guild boys & kids photo shoot with rt productions .family 21st.

I feel like ive had a week of playing .
My 2 little monkeys (daughters) are still on summer hols. so weve been out and about .
My little sister turned 21 on tues!!! we celebrated at the fab italian on garstang road. checco's.
My brother & his family came over from the states to be with us on such a special week.......this has been really emotinal . little things have touched me , like cutting {my nephews) hair for the first time ....
my girls being take to rascals on sat by them(brother) . activitys that they/i  dont get to do , with them living away .....
last night though was  so so wonderful . I love it when family get together to celebrate.
My mother who is a ledgend for home parties , acommadated a house full and some .......
To celebrate my sisters 21st .

PREPERATION FOR THE VINTAGE GUILD ......................
On wednesday our salon was filled will some of  the styling/ beauty team.
photographer ( ron from rt productions ).
and our wonderful models.

We practiced our 20,40,60,70s vintage looks on our ladies.
We created our kids looks & mens looks for the banners for the guild salon .
This is so men can be inspired & choose a vintage look, to be created on them.

Our princess vintage theme continues on to children .
Kids love to dress up, and in the picks on face book roberts steel page.you can see how much fun they had doing the shoot.


I so cant wait now for next weekend to arrive ,
Jenny called in the salon (uclan events team ) and told me that our tent had gone up on the park.
And our set was built/....eek i have mirrors with lights round ! easily pleased . lol!

I went to preston collage today .Where i met my gifted and talented students ,that were picked to be part of our vintage team.

The morning was spent ,demoing 2 of our vintage looks. FARA FICK & AUDREY PLEAT.

Myself ,jenny& elena from the uclan team explained to the students ,what happened in the past guild & what to expect in the vintage guild 2012 weekend /

The afternoon we all got stuck into replicating 1920,40,50,60,70s looks on our beautiful models .

We  were bursted out of the salon doors, with prom queens on friday ! from 10 am until 4pm
 ( my first day back ) ...it was a wonderful day . 2 schools mixing together , archbishop in fulwood preston .And st michaels in chorley.a great buzzzzzzz..........................

Getting back behind the chair , after an operation

In febuary this year, I chose to have my varicous veins removed.
I'm now on day 10! On recovery from op on leg number 2 .
I feel great today . And my leg wounds are healing well.
I'm one of those patients ,who struggles
to rest, yet this time...after a difficult time last time,I've really done that.
Tomorrow is a test for me ( and exciting time) I return back behind the chair for one bride only!!!!
I absolutely love my job, and by having this operation I have made sure, I am able to continue in my wonderful proffessional.
I'm off work again after tomorrow , until next fri 6 th July. For my prom girls ....
And then off again until the following Wednesday 11th July.
This way I ease my body back into it role
Oh the head battle with the poorly body .
I'm sure there s lots of others like me out there .

This monday our feature went into  for the lancashire evening post .
This was a shoot we did , for our prom package.......

We had 3 prom queens ,& 1 past prom queen .
We had a great time pampering them in the salon ,then onto there location of avenham park, where they were then to be , photographing & recording the whole event on a video.
This is every  girls dream . They get the chance before there proms ,during, and after the event ...

Leyland hotel The Rosemere Cancer Foundation

The Guest Boutique in Leyland organised this event for The Rosemere Cancer Foundation and took place at The Leyland Hotel. The event was absolutely packed and there was plenty going on for all the ladies.

I was there with rt promotions , because we are promoting our make-over shoots which we will be starting very soon.This is a perfect treat for mums and daughters, treats for oneselves, or loved ones.
